Where a masters costs least

Germany: €0 tuition at public universities plus a €350 semester contribution — the cheapest serious option in Europe.

France: public masters at €3,941/year, dropping to €178–€254 with an Eiffel or Charpak scholarship.

Italy: €900–€4,000/year sticker price, reduced sharply by the income-based ISEE assessment.

Poland: €2,000–€6,000/year with the lowest living costs in the EU at €500–€800 a month.

IELTS by country

Germany 6.5 (7.0 for top schools) — Medium of Instruction letters accepted.

UK, Netherlands, Sweden, Ireland and Denmark: 6.5, rising to 7.0 at the strongest universities.

France, Italy, Spain and Finland: 6.0–6.5.

GRE and GMAT are not required for most European MS programmes.
